Covid19 – Reopening Plan

While I recognize the weight of this pandemic is far from over, at least I can breathe a small sigh of relief that we are making some progress and that each day I am closer and closer to seeing my clients again and capturing their beautiful life moments.  Life on the other side of this crisis is bound to look different than before and I have enhanced many of my policies and cleaning measures to ensure my clients’ safety and to abide by New York State guidelines to safely reopen the studio.  There’s still some uncertainty with various reopening procedures, so please bear with me and be patient when I need to pivot to guarantee I am following procedure changes.

All that being said, below are some updates on what I am doing as we move into the next phases of reopening.  The first measure is most important for clients trying to set up a session once we are officially approved to begin:

Session Scheduling

Until further notice, I will only schedule ONE studio session EVERY OTHER day, regardless of the type of session (newborn/family/maternity) to ensure 48 hours between clients, providing enough time for thorough sanitation and cleaning.  So, that means I will only schedule a maximum of three (3) sessions per week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday).  It’s more important now than ever to book sessions in advance to reserve a spot on my calendar.  Currently, I only have four (4) spots left in June!  Schedule as soon as possible.  Outside sessions will be offered, but will only be available based on what each week’s session schedule and the weather looks like.  Additionally, for the time being, sessions will be limited to immediate family only.

Health Measures

Before each session, I regularly monitor my temperature and I will now ask my clients to do the same before arriving at the studio.  Should either party have an above-normal temperature, we will reschedule the portrait session.  Also, I keep disposable masks and gloves on hand at the studio.  I will happily wear both during the session, if that’s what you’d prefer.

Personal Hygiene

I wash my hands thoroughly before and after each session and I will now ask my clients to immediately wash their hands upon arrival at the studio.  I also have hand sanitizer readily available and it will be kept out in the shooting area at all times.

Studio Cleaning

I maintain a high standard of cleanliness at the studio, regardless of the pandemic.  However, I am paying extra attention to disinfect and sanitize all surfaces, props, backdrops – anything that could be touched.  Any Lovely Day-owned attire/gowns/wraps that are used during a session are washed before the next use.  Lastly, at this moment, outside props are not allowed in the studio.

No Shoes

No shirt, no shoes, no service?  Not in our studio. Clients will be required to remove their shoes once inside the studio and leave them at the doorway.

We are getting there!  Stay positive and safe.  I look forward to seeing my clients soon!
